Tasmania Experience

This competition has now concluded. Congratulations to our winning entrant, Donna Spragg, who has been contacted. Thank you all for entering.

Merrell is giving you the chance to win a multi-day wukalina walk experience, where you’ll be guided through the magnificent larapuna/Bay of Fires and wukalina/Mt William areas.

This experience will deepen your understanding of palawa culture (Tasmanian Aboriginal) and immerse you in the natural and rugged beauty of larapuna and wukalina.

  • Return flights from your nearest capital city to Launceston, Tasmania for two people
  • Multi-day wukalina walk experience for two people
  • Accommodation (three nights’ accommodation is included in the walking experience, plus one night’s accommodation pre and post walking experience. Prize includes 5 nights’ accommodation in total)
  • Pick up and drop off from wukalina walk experience
  • Merrell Gear Pack (2 x pairs of Merrell shoes so you’re equipped for the walk)

The wukalina walk is a three night, four day Aboriginal owned and operated guided walk based around the magnificent natural landscape of the larapuna/Bay of Fires and wukalina/Mt William areas, incorporating the famous Bay of Fires in North East Tasmania, Australia, the cultural homeland of the palawa.

Winners will spend two nights in absolute comfort in bespoke palawa-inspired domed huts and one night in the beautifully renovated Lighthouse Keepers Cottage at larapuna/Bay of Fires in north east Tasmania.

The experience will provide an opportunity to walk with palawa guides in the footsteps of their traditional people on the cultural homeland of wukalina and larapuna. You will hear first-hand palawa creation stories and participate in cultural practices that have been passed down for hundreds of generations.

The wukalina walk season runs from October to April.
